Here's a follow-up to A Clear And Present Danger (June 10, 2020).
In that post I included a Tucker Carlson video. Carlson, along with Tim Pool, are two mainstays opposing the fascist threat in the United States. Tim Pool has a report today talking about the escalating attempts to destroy Tucker Carlson (video below).
This is a beautiful example of just the kind of threat I was talking about in yesterday's post. Disney, T-Mobile and others are pulling their advertising support for Tucker's nightly show, which is the most viewed show on TV cable news. As Tim notes, this is a blatant attempt to shut Tucker down again, and Tim even asserts his belief that "Tucker Carlson is not long for this world."
Maybe these corporate pricks will successfully shut Tucker down, but that is precisely the threat to civil liberties (free speech) I was talking about yesterday, isn't it? This is the danger we must try to avoid.
So we need to make it impossible for pandering corporate elites to shut down free speech in this and every other case. Yes, they have the right to pull their advertising from Tucker's show, but their motive here is purely political. Clearly their motive can not be financial. And if they can silence Tucker Carlson, how easy then will it be for them to silence me? Or you? Or anyone they don't like? (BTW, they may like you today, but that's no guarantee they will like you tomorrow.)
About three minutes in, Tim makes this now realistic assessment—
"If you are on the left, and the left wins, you're fine.
If you are on the right, and the left wins, you are in serious trouble...."
[Watch the video below to get Tim's entire statement.]
That's right! If these self-interested, moral grandstanding fascist lunatics win, and if you're not a lunatic yourself, you are in serious trouble.
Let me clear up one troubling fallacy here. In this fight, there is no "right" as in political "left versus right". You are either for civil liberties and the rule of law, or you are not. Preserving civil liberties and the rule of law means that all political opinions (short of incitement to violence) are permitted. That is not a "conservative" or "alt-right" or "white supremacist" view. The elites supporting the so-called "left" created this false dichotomy.
Preserving civil liberties and the rule of law are the backbone of the classical liberal (John Locke/Jeffersonian) view espoused in the founding documents of this nation. Many laws and amendments later, we are still trying to get it right. That is a task which never ends because humans often get confused. They're confused right now. They're very confused right now. We're in serious trouble.
These elitist fascists do not want to get it right. They want to tear it all down. There will be no civil liberties. no rule of law. Instead, they will demand obedience and rule by threat of violence or banishment—you will be cancelled—if you do not obey.
These fascists want you to believe that all those defending civil liberties are racists or even white surpremacists. That's a projection. The "woke" fascist lunatics, most of whom are white and actually privileged, hate white working people. (Actually, they hate all working people, but they especially hate white working people.)
The bottom line is that a fascist victory will be George Orwell come to life. This is no joke. I'm sorry to have to tell you this, I truly am.
Here's Tim. For now, you can still watch him on YouTube.
