Today's remedy features film composer Angelo Badalamenti, who most recently scored A Late Quartet (2012). However, today we are more interested in his older collaborations with David Lynch. If Lynch is a sick guy, and I hope we can agree that he is, Badalamenti has been more than up to challenge of conveying whatever evil mood Lynch wants to get across. I love this stuff, which has some of the best elements of film noir music.
- Laurens Walking — from David Lynch's The Straight Story, a great film (1999)
- theme for Mulholland Drive — from Lynch's 2001 film of the same name
- Twin Peaks suite — from Lynch's early 1990s TV series (Laura Palmer's and the main theme)
- Mysteries of Love — from Lynch's Blue Velvet (1986)
- Wicked Game — Chris Isaak's 1989 song, used in Lynch's Wild At Heart (1991), which was scored by Badalamenti
"If Lynch is a sick guy..."
Eraserhead...possibly the most disturbing film I've ever seen.
