Having presented two real TED talks yesterday, I think we need to put them in perspective.
Reader Jim reminded of the wonderful Onion Talks series, which does the job very nicely.
"Compost Cars" and "Ducks Go Quack" serve to remind us what dumb motherfuckers the people who give TED talks usually are, although it's hard to say who is dumber—the vacuous optimists giving the talks, or the hopeful sheep lapping up their every word.
Those are cute, but they still aren't as ridiculous as yesterday when Gordon admitted that the data for the past 6 years was originally a projection and didn't match what really happened (negative growth) and didn't even bother to consider any implications. Do people even know what "reality check" means anymore?
