Let's play some blues today. And why's that? Why not? It's the blues. Don't need no reason!
You know Ben Harper and Ry Cooder, but you may not be familiar with Kelly Joe Phelps and Chris Smither. I'm sure they could use your support.
- Whipping Boy — Ben Harper (from Welcome To The Cruel World, 1994)
- I've Been Converted — Kelly Joe Phelps (from Lead Me On, 1994)
- Police Dog Blues — Ry Cooder (composed by Blind Blake, live audio, 1973)
- Killing The Blues — Chris Smither (composed by Rowland Salley, live in Paris, 2007)
Dave, wondering if you have heard of the "hardcore" ska band Streetlight Manifesto before. They are a bastion of incredible raw talent in these days of musical mediocrity.
Their album Somewhere in the Between is absolutely fantastic, top tracks are We Will fall Together, Down Down Down to Mephisto's Cafe and Would you be Impressed.
