We'll start out with a clip from Paddy Chayefski's Network. No comment necessary.
Montreux was a 1980s "American fusion band, specializing in the blend of jazz and bluegrass, with jam elements" according to Wikipedia. Whatever that means. They recorded on Windham Hill, which was the "new agey" label, which probably didn't help them. I spent a lot of time listening to Montreux in the 1980s and 90s, especially when I needed to chill. The band consisted of Darol Anger (violin), Barbara Higbie (piano), Michael Manring (bass, synthesizers) and Mike Marshall (mandolin, guitars). There's a pretty limited supply of Montreux videos available, and I hope you'll like the ones I've selected (To Be, Dolphins and Skywriting, in that order.)
