I do not know about it being Reagan's fault, but it is interesting to note that the start of the massive change in the rate of Real Household Debt happened at about the same time that boomers entered into their peak earning years. Selfish boomers getting what they want when they want by racking up lots of debt? In 1985, the earliest boomer hit 40 and the laggards were in their mid to late 20s. I admit to being a boomer (1959) but not a dept slave.
