I've crawled out of bed long enough to tell you that I'm feeling too sick to post. Some kind of stomoch flu (or food poisoning) came over me suddenly last night, and I sure hope it doesn't last long. I am starting to feel better, but only very slowly.
I did notice that the official jobless rate fell 3/10ths of point to 7.8%. I managed to read Mish's post on the BLS numbers, and I must say, before I go back to bed, that it may no longer be necessary or desirable to put out a bearish take on the economy in so far as it is clear that a miracle is in progress

Well hopefully Dave, after you emerge from your illness, it'll be a brave and prosperous new world with well paying quality jobs and affordable higher education, powering a new generation of Americans into a new golden age.
Of course, I wouldn't hold my breath on that one.

A Festivus miracle! The economy will survive another month without a collapse!

Sorry to hear that Dave. I hope someone is checking in on you. If it's food poisoning you can get a high fever and not be thinking clearly enough to get to a doctor when you need to.

I read Mish's post also, but was unable to comment.
In the analysis, almost 89 million people were not counted in the labor force. What percentage of these people are younger than 18, older than 65, disabled, etc.?

Dave - get well soon. If this is any help, you need to purge your system of the poison floating around. I have a personal technique that always helps me in this situation. I conjure up an image of the most annoying egomaniacal person I can think of and - hey presto - my stomach heaves and out splurges the poison.
In my case, the person I first think of every time is Annie Lennox. Thank you Annie, you have a purpose at last.
